There is excellent theatre in Niagara and much of it is accessible. The following is a selection of the most popular venues. The Shaw Festival has gained a world-class reputation.
Plays are performed in four venues:
- The Festival Theatre – wheelchair accessible
- The Royal George Theatre – accessible but ramp must be requested
- The Court House Theatre – not accessible
- The Studio Theatre – accessible
Accessible parking at the theatres is limited
Arrive early to park at the Festival Theatre.
For the Royal George Theatre, use town metered wheelchair accessible parking spots near the theatre or behind the old Courthouse.
Two accessible washrooms at Festival theatre
One at Royal George located beside the building in Bernard’s, the Shaw Festival Shop is accessible from the outside.
Wheelchair accessible seating spaces are available at all accessible theatres.
When booking make sure they know you need to be in an accessible seating area.
If you are bringing a group using wheelchairs call before booking.
Listening devices for hearing impaired patrons for a fee of $2.
Members of the Canadian or American Hard of Hearing Association may have the fee waived upon request.
Some devices may be used in unison with a personal hearing aid.
